16.2-3 hands : 5 year old : Perch/Friesian : Gelding
Luigi is a 5 year old, 16.2hh, Friesian/Percheron cross gelding. This boy is as sweet as he is handsome and a barn favorite for sure. He absolutely loves attention and is a total ‘in your pocket’ type of horse. He has an incredible brain and is easy and fun to work with. We want to find the best home for Luigi, because he’s truly a special horse and deserves the best.
On the trail, Luigi is pretty much unflappable. He’s a reliable ride and acts the same every time. We’ve had beginners on him out on the trail with no problems, and he always is sure to take care of his rider. If you’re looking for a husband horse to trail ride, he’s the one. He is brave enough to lead the group, or happy to hang out in the back. There is not enough good things to say about this one. He’ll pop over logs and small fences and go for a swim in the river. He’s an all around good time and is happy to hop in the trailer and go for an adventure. He loves to see the sights and is somewhat of a tourist on the trail. He’ll bushwhack through heavy brush or go for a canter in an open field with no problem. He’s a solid citizen, and a horse you don’t have to worry about out on the trail.
In the ring, Luigi is smart and tries to please. He has a nice wtc and is learning to get his leads and be more balanced. He does have more to learn, so he’d still be considered green. He never has any naughty behavior and would be easy enough for a good junior or confident AA working with a trainer to continue to bring along. He’s also sporty and versatile enough for a professional to have fun with. He’s learning to go on the bit, and he can tend to get under it which he is currently working through. He’s also learning to move off of leg pressure and working on lots of transition work. This guy has all the right parts to be phenomenal and just needs someone willing to put the time in to make him great. He’s always level headed and isn’t one to get upset.
Luigi has been lightly started over jumps and is doing well. He is athletic and cute. We haven’t pushed him too much. He will pop over small xrails and go through a few combinations. He is honest and has a good work ethic. He’s been XC and was brave with all the jumps. He is not one to overjump and if anything needs more of a push. This boy is a super fun ride and gains more confidence with every ride. We’re excited to see what his future holds.
In the barn, Luigi has a sweet personality and wants all the attention he can get. He loves to be groomed and loved on, and he stands to tack and bridle. He is good for the farrier and the dentist. He has no bad stall habits and can be turned out with mares and geldings. He is easy to trailer and work around. He is truly a special horse and everyone is very fond of him.
Luigi is UTD on shots, deworming, farrier, coggins and dentist.
