‘The Fonz’ is the elusive unicorn that every trainer, parent, and kid wants to have in their barn. Fonzy is a 7 year old stout and sturdy Appaloosa gelding standing 15 hands high. This flashy fellow has miles as an IEA horse, in a lesson program, and out on the trails with the kids as a family horse. He is steady, reliable, lovable, and would make a great addition to any family.
In the ring, Fonzy is straightforward and simple. He is happy trotting around with the children in the lesson program, jumping around courses, and even going western, neck reining and loping around. Fonzy is very well broke both English and western, and listens well to leg and seat aids. He is very tolerant of young and green riders, and has a great brain and attitude for a horse of his age. Fonzy will jump anything put in front of him and is happy to find a spot if his rider can’t. He is reliable and honest, and has the cutest knees over every jump.
Outside of the ring, Fonzy is a true trail master and enjoys exploring and being out of the ring. We trailer him off property for trail rides, lessons, and clinics. He doesn’t have a care in the world about being in a new place, and acts as if he’s been there his whole life. Fonzy is not spooky or nervous in new places or situations, and can be ridden by any level of rider out on the trails. He will ride alone, in a group, and will even pony other horses. Fonzy loves to swim, and will cross any obstacle put in front of him. He’s great for the children, guests, and beginners to hack out on, and is a true confidence builder.
In the barn, Fonzy is as safe and easygoing as can be. He can be tacked and handled by the kids with ease, and loves getting attention. Fonzy is turned out in a mixed herd of mares and other geldings, but is just as happy when stalled. He can be ridden every day or once a week, and will be the same horse every time. He is a pleasure to have in the barn.
