"Jesse Jones" - For Sale

16.1-2 hands : 7 year old : OTTB : Gelding

Jesse Jones is a 2016 model, chestnut Thoroughbred gelding. This handsome guy stands right about 16.1-2 hands high. Jesse has all the chrome and always catches the eye. He’s extremely sweet and sensible. He loves his people and loves being loved on. This boy is truly special, and we want him to go to only the best home.

In the barn, Jesse is respectful in the stall and nice to handle. He’s gentle enough for the kids to climb all over him, hug him, kiss him, and brush him. He just loves attention. He will stand all day to be groomed and tacked up. He takes the bit easily, and he picks up all four feet without having to ask twice. Jesse will also stand without being tied to untack and brush off. In the pasture, he can go out with other geldings or mares and never causes trouble. He will also load up easily onto any kind of trailer. He truly is a dream to be around.

On the trail, Jesse has lots of experience and doesn’t get worked up about anything. He enjoys going for a canter in the field, and he will come right back down to walk on a loose rein. This guy loves being out to see the sights with his person. He’s good in a big or small group of horses and will happily lead or follow. He doesn’t have a kick or a spook in him. He loves jumping over logs and small fences and looks great doing it. This brave boy will lead the group right into the river or across a stream without a second thought. He’s an extremely fun horse to ride.

In the ring Jesse is coming along fast and well. He’s very intelligent and strives to please his rider. He was underweight and lacking muscle when we got him, but he has been building back up nicely, and he is getting strong again with slow work. He still has a way to go, which reflects in his price. He will go down into a headset when asked, and he carries himself beautifully. He’s learning to move off leg and is picking it up very quickly. He has extremely comfortable gaits and is very manageable. He generally always gives the proper lead into canter and is very smooth with his transitions.

Jesse has been started with pole work and small jumps, and he is very athletic. He enjoys jumping, but can get excited and needs someone with experience to make him his best version. We see so much potential in him to be a fun fox hunter or great eventing horse with the right guidance. He’s fancy enough and willing to excel in dressage as well. He can take a joke and rarely gets offended at mistakes. We don’t recommend him for a complete beginner, as he should continue his education. He is gentle and reliable enough for an amateur or intermediate rider working with a trainer.

Jesse is UTD on farrier, dentist, shots, deworming and coggins.
