Percy is a 9 year old Percheron/Morgan gelding standing 15.3 hands high. Percy is the ultimate partner for any rider looking to have fun and adventure. He is a simple and enjoyable horse to ride in the arena, easily popping over jumps or giving the kids lessons. Outside of the ring, Percy will fearlessly carry you wherever you wish without hesitation. We have had Percy a little under a year and have had some of the most extraordinary fun filled adventures in our time with him. From beach rides, him pulling us on skis out on the trails in the winter, camping trips, to swimming in the lake, driving the carriage into town, and more! There is never a shortage of fun times and memories to be made with Percy.
In the ring, Percy is the most comfortable horse you will ever sit on. He has three smooth and balanced gaits, and has great brakes. Percy is a point and shoot type of ride, and always listens to his riders commands. He is a brave jumper and will jump around a 2”6 course with ease.
Off property, Percy is a barn favorite. He enjoys exploring new places and trying new activities. He is as brave as they come, but is not a dead head either. Percy can keep up with the big horses all day long. Percy loves to swim, will cross bridges, go through tunnels, and cross any other obstacle you may come across. Percy is great on hunter paces and will jump all of the fences you may come across. He is used to being trailered different places with different riders and is always up for another adventure.
In the barn, Percy is mannerly and polite. He stands like a statue to be groomed, bathed, and tacked. He is overall a very good boy, and we have no complaints. Percy is happy living inside or out and it makes no difference in his attitude under saddle. When turned out, Percy goes in a mixed herd of mares and geldings and never causes any issues.
Under harness, Percy is experienced driving both single and in pairs. He is traffic safe and is used to farm machinery, heavy traffic, and big trucks. He moves on like he should, and is always ready to work when asked. He has good brakes and stands well.
