✨Meet Bohdi✨ This stunning hunk of a gelding is a 9-year-old, 16–16.1hh Morgan/Friesian cross. He’s broke to ride both Western and English, or hop on bareback! Bohdi has lovely conformation and takes up leg well. Riding him feels like sitting on a couch. With a sweet personality and a love for people, he’s quickly become a barn favorite. He loves to trail ride, and he’ll be one of the best trail partners you’ll ever find.
Seriously—this guy has ridden everywhere: through the drive-thru for lunch, down the strip in town, to the grocery store, Wawa, all the mountain trails—you name it! He truly loves to go out and is a steady, reliable partner every time. Steep banks or water crossings don’t bother him—he’s been there, done that. Bohdi will happily go for a dip in the river, cross covered bridges, climb steep mountains, and travel through open fields, all while staying relaxed around hikers, bikers, and dogs. Logs and small fences? He’ll pop right over. He’s schooled cross-country and proved himself to be fairly athletic! With more conditioning, he could easily clear some large jumps. (He could stand to lose a few pounds😂.) That being said, Bohdi is an extremely easy keeper and will keep your feed bill low! He’d be a great choice for a guest/husband horse, fox hunting, paper chases, or simply logging miles on the trail. We’d throw just about anyone on him for a trail ride- and not have to worry.
In the arena, Bohdi walks, trots, and canters both directions with correct leads. Most of his focus has been on fitness and muscle building. He’s well educated, knows collection, has a handy neck rein, moves off the leg, and is knocking the rust off his spin and side pass. With consistent work, he improves every day and is developing a wonderful willingness to work. He’s the perfect balance of whoa and go—forward when asked and stopping on a dime. Comfortable to sit, with an easy trot, this gelding would look fancy in a dressage ring. He’s been schooling simple jump combinations and has done amazingly well. He’s always a straightforward and simple ride. Bohdi prefers trail riding over arena work, but he’ll put in the effort when asked. Intelligent and curious, he likes to stay interested and engaged. Reliable enough to pack around the “drunkles” and a perfect gentleman for lead-line rides with the littles. In the ring, Bohdi is a fun and talented enough horse for experienced riders, though sensible enough he could also be suitable for an amateur working with a trainer.
In the barn, Bohdi is always a good boy. Kids can braid him, tack him up, or run around without issue. Safe to have around, he has excellent ground manners, loves attention and treats, and will stand for hours on the ties for a spa day. He’s easy to turn in and out, gets along with all the other horses, loads right up, and is well-behaved in his stall. Always respectful for the vet, dentist, and farrier, Bohdi is a kind, dependable horse with a bright future.
