Bentley is a 4 year old, Percheron/Friesian cross. He stands right around 16.1-2 hands high. This guy has such a great head on his shoulders, and he always takes care of his rider. Bentleys so much fun to take out on the trail, everyone always argues over who gets to take him out. He is a one of a kind, there’s not many his age with such a quiet and sweet demeanor.
In the barn, Bentley is an easy keeper and never causes trouble. He has good stall manners with no bad habits. This boy is a gem to handle and be around. He stands to be groomed and tacked up, and he even puts his head down for the bit. He’s good for the farrier, and he easily picks up all four feet. He can be turned out with mares or geldings and gets along well with everyone. This special horse is as sweet as he is pretty.
On the trail, Bentley has tons of miles and nothing phases him. We have used him as a guest horse for complete beginners and he always takes care of his person without a second thought. We never have to worry about this one. He’s extremely easy going and will lead the group bravely or happily mosey along in the back. This brave boy will go over streams or into the river without having to ask twice. He loves playing in the water. If he comes across a log or fence he will pop right over it and look super cute doing it.
We have done lots of desensitization with this horse and he takes everything in stride. Bentley is used to the tarp and smoke bombs, as well as heavy equipment and traffic. He never bats an eye and has the same temperament the whole time. He’s easy to introduce to new things and has a more curious than scared personality. You can mount Bentley from almost anywhere and he will stand like a statue. He’ll load up into a ramp or step up trailer and is easy and quiet to haul.
In the ring, we’ve done basic work with this guy, and have taken things slow on the flat. He’ll walk trot canter both ways and easily picks up his proper leads. We always want our young horses to have fun doing there job, and have a good attitude towards work. He has not been drilled or pushed to hard. This boy is a comfortable and fun ride and has not disappointed us one bit. He is currently learning to be adjustable, and to move off leg pressure. He is learning to balance and carry himself well and doing phenomenal. We’ve started him over small jumps and he’s proving to be quite athletic. We believe this guy could go any direction and be a fantastic horse for someone.
Bentley is UTD on shots, coggins, deworming, dentist and farrier.
