“Ollie” - SOLD

17 hands : 5 year old : Percheron/TB : Gelding

Ollie is a 5 year old Percheron/Thoroughbred gelding standing 17 hands high. This guy has all the size, stature, and athleticism you could ask for! Ollie is a sensible trail horse, a super fun partner for hunter paces and paper chases, and a nice mover in the arena.

In the ring, Ollie is always happy to do his job. He has a good work ethic and responds well to the riders leg, seat, and voice commands. He has a great “whoa” and likes being talked to. He is the type who likes to know he’s doing a good job. Ollie is regularly ridden by a 12 year old who is schooling 2”6-2”9 courses on him. Ollie knows how to go on the bit, and shows lots of potential for dressage! Ollie has also been cross country schooling and was happy to take his young rider over all sorts of new jumps.

On the trails, Ollie is a barn favorite. He has been on almost every hunter pace the tri state area has to offer last fall. He is happy going over all of the jumps or just strolling through the course slowly with some friends. Ollie will happily cross any road, stream, bridge, or tunnel. He enjoys swimming in the lake and is a brave leader when the youngsters aren’t sure about something. Ollie is happy leading, following, or riding in the middle of the pack. It doesn’t matter to him if he’s on the trails; he is one happy camper!

In the barn, Ollie is a sweetheart. He is stoic and reserved but once he knows you’re his person, he will follow you around like a puppy dog. Ollie forms a strong bond with his people and it truly shows! Ollie loves being groomed, bathed, and scratched. He will stand like a statue on the cross ties, and is easy enough for children to get out of the stall. Ollie is happy living out 24/7 with a run in shed. When outside, Ollie lives in a mixed herd of mares and other geldings and gets along well with no complaints from anyone. He has no vices when kept inside and minds his own business.

Under harness, Ollie has a work ethic. He has been hitched to all kinds of farm machinery and is happy to get to work. Ollie has been hitched single and pairs and has been driven in traffic. He’s mostly been ridden over the past year which is common for our horses.

Ollie is ready to find his next person to hit the trails, hunter pace, paper chase, and form a bond with! He has a lot of potential. If you enjoy having a personal connection with your horse, then it’s time for you to connect with Ollie by reaching out to us. He is sound with no vices. He loads, clips, ties, bathes, and stands for the farrier. Located in Gap, Pennsylvania. Priced at $15,000. Inquiries may phone 717-917-7213 or 908-645-2127
