Arthur is a 6 year old American Warmblood gelding standing 15.3 hands high. Don’t let his size fool you. He is sturdy built and takes up a tall rider’s leg. We are so happy with this horse in every way we don’t even know where to begin! Arthur has been hunting in all fields this season and has been one of the easiest horses ever to take out. Aside from hunting, Arthur has been on many hunter paces, paper chases, and trail rides. He has been cross country schooling, seen all types of fences and obstacles, and has schooled fences up to training level. This stunning horse can head off in any direction and be successful - whether it be for competition or pleasure. He has the athleticism to go off and hunt first flight with big coupes and walls, but he has the brain and gentle nature to hill top. He shows potential to be extremely competitive in mid/upper level eventing, but is sensible and kind enough to be finished off as a kids horse too. Arthur is one who will happily do it all!
In the ring, Arthur is a pleasure to ride. He will go in a frame or on a loose rein and has extremely comfortable gaits. Arthur does have a lead change and with some work could become automatic. He is starting to learn leg yields and some basic dressage as well. Arthur is safe enough for the youngest children to walk around on, and is great for lunge lessons and those learning the basics. Arthur has the best brain and is extremely patient and forgiving. Arthur is currently schooling 2”6/2”9 courses with lots of room to go up. He has schooled up to 3”6 and does it with great form! He is honest and aims to please.
Off property, Arthur is a dream. He has been a pleasure to introduce to the hunt field, we wish they were all as easy going as him! Arthur has many miles on the trails both with adults and children. He is happy leading, following, and being in the middle of the pack. Arthur will happily cross or swim in water, cross bridges, go under tunnels, and pop over logs or ditches. On hunter paces, Arthur is confident and quiet. He is happy going slow and steady, or picking up the pace and jumping all of the fences along the way.
n the barn, Arthur is a sweetheart. He is used to kids and dogs running about, and is always happy to be groomed and braided by the young ones. Arthur stands like a perfect gentleman on the cross ties to be groomed and tacked. He enjoys attention and is sweet as could be. Arthur is well behaved in the barn and out. He is turned out with mares and other geldings, and gets along well with everyone.
Under harness, Arthur is broke the best. We have used him for weddings. He is safe to drive in heavy traffic and around the farm. He will drive over bridges, through tunnels, and alongside farm machinery without batting an eye.
