Dulce is a 7 year old, Percheron/DHH-Morgan cross gelding. This handsome boy stands right in between 16.1-2hh. Dulce is a horse everyone wants in their barn. He is as good looking and well put together as they come. Anyone can ride him, and he’s always guaranteed to take care of his rider. This is a horse you can put your grandmother on.
In the barn, Dulce is a total sweetheart and enjoyable to work with. He stands to be groomed, tacked up, and bridled. He’s used to being groomed by kids and is gentle and careful when they’re around him. Dulce is extremely smart and picks up on things quickly. He’s easy to lunge and do groundwork with. This guy has no bad stall habits and never causes a problem. He goes out in the pasture with other geldings and mares, and gets along with everyone.
On the trail, Dulce is completely reliable and dummy proof. You can put your husband or guest on him without a worry. He’s careful where he steps and never goes faster than intended. He has no spook and has been a superstar everywhere we’ve taken him. We’ve trailered to countless different trails and state parks with this boy. He always has the best personality. He’ll be a brave leader for the younger horses or mosey along in the back of the group happily. He was the first one in the water when we took him to the ocean and gave no hesitation. He just keeps impressing us. He truly is a trail master and nothing phases him. He will pop over logs and cross streams. He’s seen deer and not batted an eye. This horse would be perfect to take camping horseback.
In the ring, Dolce has three comfortable gaits and is a dream to ride. He will shorten and lengthen his stride when asked and responds well to voice signals. He has the best stop and will canter right off. We’ve given beginner lessons on him, and he’s been perfect for pony rides. He always gets the correct lead and has the most comfortable uphill canter in the barn. We definitely think this guy could excel in dressage with the right person. He’s been started over jumps and is easily adjustable and very honest. Dulce never takes a wrong step and has been super willing to learn. He’s jumped up to 2’ and through combinations with us but has skill and athleticism to go much higher. He always has amazing form and looks like a million bucks. This guy is every trainers dream to ride and bring along.
Under harness, Dulce is the same reliable dude as under saddle. Anyone can drive him, and he knows his job. He’s soft in the bridle and stops with just a simple “whoa”. He’s been hitched single and double and mostly done carriage rides. He’s also been hitched to a variety of different equipment and always takes everything as it comes. This boy is truly a jack of all trades and one of the most well rounded horses we’ve had come through our barn.
Dulce is UTD on shots, deworming, farrier, dentist and coggins.
