"Leroy" - For Sale

15.1-2 hands : 5 year old : Friesian/Morgan : Gelding

Leroy is a 5 year old, Morgan/Friesian cross, standing right around 15.1-2 hands high. This gelding is phenomenal in so many ways. He’s put together nicely with a light athletic build and good conformation. He has lovely movement that won’t be overlooked in the dressage ring and an honest forward jump to whatever you point him at. This young horse is loaded with potential and athleticism, and he could easily become a three ring horse in the right hands.

On the trail, Leroy is steady and honest. You never have to ask him to do anything twice. He’ll lead the group confidently through bridges, over logs, and into the water. He is also broke to drive, which has put a good foundation on him. He is sensible about everything, and he has seen a lot being out. He’s used to bikes, cars, dogs, runners, traffic, and is never one to get upset if another horse rides too close. He’s a fun ride to take out and would be excellent for fox hunting or going on paper chases.

In the ring, Leroy has a nice wtc foundation both ways, knows his leads, moves off leg, and is learning to go on the bit. He’s extremely intelligent and needs a rider to match. He has a ground covering trot, a lovely canter, and is one of the prettiest movers we’ve ever had. He would be an amazing dressage prospect with his willingness to learn, good work ethic, and responsiveness. He feeds off of your seat cues and leg and is, therefore, more of a sensitive ride. He likes a soft balanced rider, and he is not going to mesh well with someone who has an electric seat, or can’t adjust the speed of their post. Since he is a forward thinker he would be best suited for a quiet rider. He’s the type of horse a professional or trainer would enjoy bringing along. He’s smart, willing, and does not have a mean or naughty bone in his body.

Over jumps, Leroy is honest and a fast learner. He’s schooled XC up to 3’ and it was a breeze for him. He has all the potential to go higher. In the ring, we’ve stuck with smaller jumps and some easy combinations to continue growing his confidence. He couldn’t be doing better for his age, and we’ve been thoroughly impressed with how he’s done so far.

In the barn, Leroy has excellent manners, and will stand all day to groom and tack up. He’s easy to work around, good in his stall, and well behaved for the vet, farrier, and the dentist. More and more of his personality is coming out, and with his own person it will continue to shine. He’s sweet, goofy, and wants to bond with his own person that will be patient and take the time to understand him. We are very fond of this horse and want him to go to the best suited home that can continue his education. This horse will be a superstar in the right hands.

Leroy is UTD on shots, deworming, farrier, coggins, and dentist.
