"Malcolm" - SOLD

16.1 hands : 6 year old : Percheron/TB : Gelding

Malcolm is a 6 year old, 16.1hh, Perch/TB cross, gelding. This guy has been an absolute dream to have in the barn, and we are in no rush to see him go. He is a fantastic prospect for someone who wants continue to develop him. He could easily be a three ring horse with how well he is put together, his athleticism, and his willingness to learn. This boy has a soft spot in our hearts, and we want to find him the best possible match.

On the trail, Malcolm is happy to lead or follow. He is brave in new circumstances and a reliable horse to take out. He will pop over logs or small fences in his path and is always super cute doing it. He would make a great fox hunter and is sure to get noticed out in the field. He will go through creeks and into the river. He enjoys being out with his horse buddies, and he isn’t one to get upset if another horse rides too close. He’s the type of horse if he encounters something “scary”, he’d rather look at it than run away. He has a curious personality and is a fun partner out on the trail.

In the ring, Malcolm has shown loads of potential and has proved himself to be very intelligent. He is a fast learner and absorbs knowledge faster than most. This boy has three comfortable gaits and his transitions continue to get better with each ride. He is naturally balanced and carries himself well. Malcolm is adjustable at the trot and will do a lovely slow trot or extend when asked. He is starting to be more adjustable at the canter as well, and he has the smoothest canter in the barn. He is learning to go on the bit and move off of leg pressure. He would still be considered green but could continue to be brought along by a confident JR or AA rider working with a trainer. He has no buck or rear, and he always strives to please his rider and understand what’s asked of him.

Over jumps, Malcolm has good form and is very athletic. This boy has gotten confident over small jumps and is ready to move up to the next level. He has free jumped up to 3’6 and has been schooled over jumps up to 3’. We continue to mainly school him over xrails and small verticals to continue to build his confidence up. He has tons of scope to go higher and seems to really enjoy jumping. He has been out XC schooling and totally impressed us around the different and scary jumps. He has gone XC both with other horses and alone and is the same ride either way. He is very honest for not having tons of experience and always takes care of his rider. Malcolm does not get upset at rider errors and always insures to safely get his person to the other side. He is an extremely solid feeling ride and tons of fun.

We have done lots of desensitization work with Malcolm, and he has been brave with everything we throw at him. He has had work with the tarp, umbrella, and flags. He is also desensitized to balloons and smoke bombs. He is used to lots of different equipment, and he is traffic safe. Malcolm has dogs running around his legs and in the barn, and he never bats an eye. He is always a good sport, and his type of brain is hard to find.

In the barn, Malcolm is well behaved and doesn’t cause any problems. He stands on the crossties to be groomed, tacked up, and bathed. He has a good personality and a very sweet way about him. He loves forehead scratches and being loved on. This boy is quiet as a mouse in his stall and has no bad stall habits. He can go out in a mixed herd and seems to get along with every horse he encounters. He is good to lunge wtc both ways and over poles and small jumps.  He is good for the farrier and the dentist. He loads and trailers very well.

Malcolm has been an extremely fun horse to bring along, and we are sure under the right trainer he will continue to be impressive. He has all the potential in the world, and we can’t wait to see what his future holds with his person. He is UTD on shots, deworming, coggins, dentist, and farrier.

He is available to purchase for $12,500.
