“Moose” - SOLD

17.2 hands : 6 year old : Belgian/TB : Gelding

Moose is a 6 year old Belgian/Thoroughbred gelding standing 17.2 hands high. Moose is tall and sturdy enough to accommodate practically any sized rider, yet is quiet and gentle enough for timid and inexperienced children and adults. Moose is a steadfast partner both in the hunt field and in the arena. He is as simple as they come and a pleasure to be around.

In the ring, Moose is easygoing and steady but still has enough grace and athleticism to clear a 3’ jump when asked of him. Moose is a great pick for almost any level rider as he will never go a hair faster than is asked, but also easy enough to get going and won’t tire your legs out. Moose will walk, trot, and canter—all on the buckle. He has smooth rhythmic gaits. Aside from being comfy as a couch, Moose has the best brakes in town and will stop when you say “whoa” every time. Over fences, Moose is simple and brave. If you ask him to jump it, he always will, no questions asked. He’s a big guy, but don’t let those big feet fool you, he can still move and jump like the Warmbloods.

Off property, Moose has most of his miles. He has been hunting all season, and does well in all fields. He is happy to jump coupes, fences, and logs as they come about and is nothing but a pleasure to ride. Moose is also a fantastic for hunter paces and trail rides as well. Moose has been ridden by guests and family members on the trails. He always babysits and takes great care of his rider. He greatly enjoys swimming and dunking his head in the water. This guy will gladly lead any nervous horse across streams or other scary obstacles.

In the barn, Moose is gentle and sweet. He is very polite and minds his own business. Moose knows his size and is very mindful not to step on the toes of little ones and dogs. Moose stands to be bathed, groomed, and tacked. He enjoys attention and is easy to catch in the pasture as well. Moose is the same whether he lives in or out and does not require a special turnout schedule. When turned out, Moose goes in a mixed herd of mares and geldings without ever causing a fuss.

Under harness, Moose is sensible and experienced. He has been hitched to every piece of equipment imaginable, both on the farm and on the road. Moose will drive in heavy traffic, through tunnels, and in the fields.

In conclusion, Moose is a happy, friendly guy who loves people. He is at the perfect age to start a life with you. He is mature and ready for anything you may have in store. He is sure to please as he is talented in so many ways.
