Check out this beautiful girl! ✨Moxie✨ is a 5 year old, Perch/TB x mare. This big girl stands right around 17.2 hands. Don’t let her size scare you, she’s a complete gentle giant. She’s nicely put together being a heavier build, while still having some athleticism. She takes up leg well, and she can carry a larger rider without a problem. We couldn’t ask her to be better behaved at this age. Whether you’re looking for your next driving horse, husband horse, or something reliable to take on the trail, she’s your girl!
On the trail, Moxie is confident and slow. She’s not one that’s going to go faster than she’s asked. She’s steady, sure footed, and reliable. She is the most easygoing horse, and a true gentle giant. Despite her size, she makes a wonderful guest or husband horse to go for a hack. She will happily go in Western or English tack. She’ll lead, follow, go in the water, through the bridges, and over logs. She’s been swimming, ridden bareback, and has seen everything from dogs and bikes, to heavy machinery. She’s a solid citizen and was born with the right brain. Moxie is happy to mosey along on a loose rein, however she will pick up and go when she’s asked.
Under harness, Moxie has most her miles. She’s easy to drive, and extremely sensible. She is the perfect horse to take for a leisurely relaxing drive, or to give carriage rides to guests. She is soft in the bit, responsive to voice signals, and has a great stop and reverse. She is completely traffic safe, and she has had tractor trailers fly past her just feet away, with no reaction. She’s had a lot of desensitization from her driving past, and is not spooky or overly reactive. She is steady, reliable, and always up for a trip. This girl is going to make someone very happy!
In the ring, Moxie is started walk, trot, canter, both ways. She gets both her leads easily, and is learning to move off leg and bend. She’s a push ride, and does not get upset if you have floppy reins or make a mistake- this girl can take a joke. She is very comfortable, has a ground covering stride, and a great stop off just your seat or voice. She is still young, so she has more to learn- however she has the brain everyone wants. She has been desensitized to tarps, flags, umbrellas, balls, and everything else you can think of.
On the ground, Moxie is well behaved and has no bad barn or stall habits. She picks up her feet easily, and she is behaved for the farrier and dentist. Moxie is respectful to lead, groom, and turnout. She is not overly mareish, and goes out with geldings and other mares in the pasture. She does not have a dominant personality and seems to get along with everyone. She has great ground manners and is always aware of where her person is. This girl is a real superstar, and would make a great husband horse, driving horse, or trail partner.
Moxie is UTD on shots, farrier, coggins, and dentist.
