Nurse Nicky is a 5 year old Thoroughbred mare by Nickys Intuition (Unbridled Song) standing 16.2 hands high. This mare is bred right and has all of the makings to be a successful partner as an eventer, jumper, or hunt horse. Nicky has been to numerous schooling shows, cross country schooled frequently, hunter paces, trail rides, and in lessons with a good riding 12 year old. Nicky is brave, willing, and always happy to learn and do new things.
In the ring, Nicky is schooling first level movements and has lead changes. She has been schooled up to 1.10m with room for more, and easily jumps around a 3’ course with a junior. Nicky has her own motor but is not a hot horse. She is soft in the mouth, works on the bit or on a looser rein, and works off leg pressure very well. Her canter is to die for - slow and collected or forward and extended. She is comfortable and balanced.
Off property, Nicky is happy and intuitive. She is a blast XC schooling and is confident over Novice fences. She has schooled fences up to Prelim and could be very competitive with the right rider and program. On trails, Nicky is simple and easygoing. She enjoys going out in the woods or off on hunter paces and paper chases. Nicky is great around dogs and in large groups. She has been ridden through hunt country jumping logs, coupes, walls and more!
In the barn, Nicky is eager to get to work. She can get antsy waiting in the crossties for long periods of time, but is easy to groom and tack. Nicky is happy living out 24/7 with geldings and other mares, but is well behaved when she is in her stall as well.
There is no doubt in our minds that this mare will continue on a path of greatness and be something special with the right rider. She has everything going for her and is definitely one we are sad to see go, but cannot wait to see her grow and shine! Nicky would do best in a program as she is athletic and loves to work. She would be a great candidate for a junior or amateur working with a trainer that wants to move up the levels or take into the hunt field. This mare is versatile and fun!
