Rocket is a five year old Dutch Harness/Hackney gelding standing 16 hands high. This gelding is exceptionally talented and will be one to go into the upper levels. We are so disappointed we did not get to show him this year, but we would love to see him go to a show home where he will be reaching his full potential. Rocket is Mr. Personality! He adores people and attention. He will stand on the crossties for hours being groomed and loved on. Rocket is currently schooling 1.15/1.20m fences with lots of room to go higher. He is athletic, smart, and correct. Rocket is a favorite to take cross country and has schooled up to prelim level fences. He is currently ridden by both a professional and a good riding 12 year old with a trainer and is coming along beautifully. With his work ethic and athleticism, he isn’t suited for timid or inexperienced riders. That being said, he will excel in any direction with the right rider and we are dedicated to finding that match for this talented young horse. He has the looks, talent, and an unbeatable sweet personality.
In the ring, Rocket is a dream to flat. He has 3 quality animated gaits. He is light off of the leg, in the bridle, and easily goes on the bit. Over fences, Rocket is brave, careful, and always happy to do his job. Even at his age he has a great jumping style that will only improve as he gains more experience. He is very willing and easy to maneuver on technical courses and will take a fence from any distance he is given. Rocket is balanced with easy flying changes. This horse will be a tough one to beat in the jumper ring!
Off property, we couldn’t be happier with how Rocket acts. He is a gentleman and doesn’t get worked up. He is trailered off property for lessons, cross country schooling, hunter paces, and trail rides all the time. He enjoys the change in environment and seeing new things. In the cross country field, Rocket is careful and very willing. He takes to new things beautifully and is as honest as they come. On the trails, Rocket is relaxed and happy. He LOVES the water and swims like a fish in the lake.
In the barn, Rocket is polite and super friendly. He loves people and attention. He stands to be groomed and tacked, is the first one up to you in the pasture, and is easy to handle. Rocket is everyone’s favorite horse as he is an absolute ham and has the cutest face around. He enjoys living outside, and is turned out with mares and other geldings. When stalled, Rocket has no bad habits and is a pleasure to have in the barn.
Overall, Rocket is a phenomenal young horse that will without a doubt be bringing home the blues once we can get back into the show ring. Eventers and show jumpers, this is a horse that will without a doubt make a name for someone. All of the talent, foundation, and scope is there to be polished off your way. He is sound and okay.
