“Thor” - For Sale

16 hands : 5 year old : Friesian Sport : Gelding

Thor is a 5 year old Friesian/Morgan gelding standing 16 hands high. Thor is the type of horse that loves having a job and will never complain about going to work. He will be the type to easily move up the levels in the dressage arena as he aims to please and will never complain about putting in the work. Outside of the ring, we have never had a horse that loves the water as much as Thor does. He would swim all day if it were up to him!

In the ring, Thor has a work minded attitude and great work ethic. He is forward thinking and naturally likes to be round and vascular. He has three comfortable gaits that are easy to sit. Thor is the type professionals will also enjoy, as he will never complain about putting in the hours to train, and wants to please his rider. Thor will be simple to move up the levels with the right rider. He is forward thinking and lacks no style. We have lightly started him on lateral movements and will continue to keep him in a dressage emphasized program until he finds his person. We have also introduced Thor to some small fences and he is unfazed by any “spooky” or new jumps. With this athleticism and work ethic he can head off in any direction and be successful.

Off property, Thor is simple and straightforward. He greatly enjoys being out of the ring whether it be to trail ride or to just explore. He is the type that will go anywhere you point him. Out of any horse we have ever had, Thor may love the water more than all of them combined. He would swim every day of the week if he could. If you have a nervous youngster, Thor will confidently lead them wherever they need to go without hesitation. Thor will pop over logs, cross roads, ride in traffic, and everywhere in between. This guy will gladly carry his rider anywhere and everywhere without hesitation.

In the barn, Thor is polite and enjoys being around people. He stands to be groomed and tacked, and is respectful of personal space. Thor lives out in a mixed herd of mares and geldings, but can also be stalled without any issues. Thor has no bad habits in or out of the barn and gets along well with other horses.

Under harness, Thor is an old pro. He works hard but knows how to stand still at stop signs and traffic lights. He has been to town, out after dark, and hitched to different carriages. He is fancy and like to show himself off.

Thor has a great work oriented attitude and will thrive in a home where he can have a job, whether it be in the ring or on the trails. Though he may not be the type of horse you put your grandma on to ride, he most certainly will fearlessly and comfortably carry his rider wherever they ask him to. If you are looking for a horse that will put in just as much effort into your training as you do, Thor will not disappoint.
