Tito is a 12 year old, 3/4 Dutch Harness 1/4 Percheron gelding standing 16.1 hands high. Tito is everything you could ask for in a family horse and then some. Tito is every parents dream, every trainers favorite, and every riders best friend. He has smooth steady gaits and an absolutely wonderful smooth, slow canter. He is ideal for timid riders, children, people just getting back into riding, or riders who just need a confidence boosting safe horse. If your ‘In Search Of’ post read, “I want to be able to enjoy my horse, I’m too old to get hurt, I want my kid on a safe horse, I like to be able to ride out of the ring without worry, or I’d like to do a bit of everything”, then Tito is the guy for you!
In the ring, Tito is the definition of steady eddy. He will walk, trot, and canter all on a loose rein and never go a step faster than is asked. He is extremely comfortable and easy to ride. He is the definition of a simple and safe. Tito is currently being used in lessons and is great for everyone from first timers, to those starting to jump. We have jumped Tito up to 3’ and can easily go higher, however he has been such a good guy for the job he does now, so we have never pushed his jumping limits.
Off property, Tito is a fantastic trail horse. He enjoys getting out of the ring and seeing new places and things. Tito will lead, follow, or ride in the middle of the pack. Nothing seems to phase him, and he is as safe as they come. He has been trail ridden by husbands, guests, children, and friends. He always gets a good review from whoever is riding him, and never disappoints, no matter where we take him for a ride! Tito will easily cross roads, water, bridges, and anything else that you may come across in your travels.
In the barn, Tito is a gentleman. On any given day he is handled, groomed, tacked up, braided, and ridden by kids. He is used to being cuddled, loved on, and adored by all of the many children on the farm. Tito stands like a statue on the crossties, and has no bad habits in or out of the barn. He is happy living inside or out, it makes no difference to him! When he is in the pasture he goes in a mixed herd of mares and other geldings. Tito minds his own business and is overall a pleasure to have in the barn.
Under harness, Tito is broke the best! We used him at our carriage riders. He has been driven all over town, through tunnels, over bridges, and even through the drive thru. He drives single and double and can be driven by almost anyone.
Tito will make a great addition to any family or barn! With his gentle nature, willing attitude, and great brain, there is nothing he cannot do. Absolutely anyone can handle and ride this guy. Whether you are looking for a local show horse, a partner to learn some dressage on, a trail horse for the husband, or an all around horse for the whole family, Tito will happily do the job.
