Vancouver is a 5 year old Belgian/Thoroughbred gelding standing 17 hands high. This big, handsome guy has the looks, talent, and brains to be successful in any discipline. Vancouver is simple and quiet both in the arena and out. His great mind and willing attitude, combined with great movement and picture perfect looks make for one special horse!
In the ring, Vancouver is an easy ride with some of the smoothest gaits you’ll ever find. He will go around on the buckle or work nicely in a frame. He has a solid foundation on him and will be as simple as they come to train in the dressage ring. Vancouver has also been started over fences and is both brave and honest. He showed tons of scope and correctness in the jump chute. Height will be no issue for this guy. Vancouver likes to please his rider and could easily be brought along and moved up the levels by a junior or amateur working with a trainer.
Off property, Vancouver is happy as can be. He enjoys being out on the trails and is trustworthy and quiet. He will go in the water, cross bridges, roads, and any other obstacle you may come across. Vancouver will lead, follow, or go in the middle of the pack. He has also has been out on numerous hunter paces and paper chases. Vancouver will easily pop over logs, coupes, and walls as they come about. He is well behaved when tied to the trailer and is overall a pleasure to hack out!
In the barn, Vancouver is sweet as can be. He adores attention and will nuzzle and love on you all day long. He is quite the cuddle bug! He is polite and patient on the cross ties, and stands to be groomed, tacked, and bathed. Vancouver lives out most of the time, but is also happy when he is in his stall. When turned out, Vancouver goes in a mixed herd of mares and geldings and gets along well with everyone.
Under harness, Vancouver is simple and straightforward. He has been hitched to all kinds of farm machinery and is a good worker. He has also been driven in traffic on the road, through tunnels, over bridges, as well as around the farm with the family.
Overall, Vancouver is a good looking, easy going, friendly horse with the world ahead of him. Polish his skills and hit the show ring, or take him home and have a solid hunt or trail horse that will carry you wherever your heart desires. We always love when a horse is this versatile with a willing attitude and great brain, it makes training easy and riding fun.
