“Willie” - For Sale

15.1-2 hand :5  year old : Belgian/Morgan X : Gelding

Willie is a five-year-old Percheron/Morgan cross standing around 15–15.1 hands. He’s the perfect blend of substance and handiness — sturdy enough for a taller rider, yet compact and comfortable for a smaller one. His jet-black coat, kind expression, and soft eye make him one you can’t help but fall for.

True to the CM Farms program, Willie has been brought along with patience, consistency, and care. He’s a reflection of our philosophy — producing quiet, good-minded horses who are not only enjoyable to ride but trustworthy and kind in every situation.

🏇 Training, Ride, and Arena Work

Willie is an absolute pleasure to ride — calm, willing, and well-educated beyond his years. He goes both English and Western and transitions easily between disciplines. He’s adjustable, responsive, and light off your aids. He’s got all the buttons: he spins, side passes, leg yields, turns on the haunches, and neck reins beautifully. Whether you’re asking for a collected jog, a working trot, or a forward canter, he stays balanced and tuned in.

He’d make a lovely partner for someone interested in dressage or lower-level show work, with the potential to become a fun all-around horse for any confident rider. He’s the kind of horse who makes you feel safe and capable — steady enough for someone learning, yet educated enough to keep a more experienced rider smiling.

Willie has also been introduced to jumping and is a natural — honest, brave, and uncomplicated. He’s popped over small courses in the ring, from cross rails to simple oxers and combinations, and has schooled out cross-country over water, banks, logs, and coops. He has a confident, “point-and-go” attitude that makes him a joy to ride over fences.

In the arena, he’s dependable and consistent — you can pull him out after a few weeks off, and he’s the same horse every time. He’s forward and willing without being hot, giving you the perfect mix of safety and fun.

🛞 Driving and Foundation

Before being started under saddle, Willie was well-schooled to drive both single and in pairs. He’s worked on the farm, in traffic, and right down the main highway without a single spook or hesitation. He’s been driven to town, to the gas station, and through all kinds of environments. That solid foundation gave him the confidence and exposure that now carry into his riding — making him reliable, thinking, and brave in new places.

🌿 Personality, Manners, and Potential

Willie is one of those rare horses who’s just plain good to be around. He’s personable, affectionate, and loves people — to the point that he’ll follow you everywhere you go just to be near you. He’s the kind who’d happily curl up in your lap if he could, content to soak up scratches and attention all day long. Despite his love for people, he’s never rude or pushy — just genuinely sweet and deeply connected to his humans.

In the barn, he’s quiet and well-mannered. He’ll stand for grooming, bathing, tacking, or just being loved on for hours. In turnout or in a group, he gets along with everyone.

Out on the trail, Willie will go absolutely anywhere you point him — through woods, water, fields, or traffic. He’s steady, confident, and happy to lead or follow. He’s the type you can trust to be the same horse every single day, whether he’s been ridden regularly or had a break.

Willie truly embodies what CM Farms stands for — a kind, quiet, versatile partner trained with patience and love. He’s the sort you could put your kids on, or let Grandma take for a ride, and know he’ll take care of them just the same. Whether you want a dependable trail horse, a lovely arena partner, or a well-rounded family favorite, Willie checks every box.
