Meet ✨Dustin!✨
Special doesn’t even begin to describe how amazing this boy truly is. He is a once-in-a-lifetime horse—one you won’t EVER find another of. Dustin is a 5-year-old, standing 16.1–16.2hh, Friesian/QHx, and he definitely got the best qualities from both breeds. Most importantly, he has the BEST brain. The pretty facial features of the Friesian, paired with the curves and coloring from the QH, just make him that much better!
His buckskin coloring (complete with dapples) and light brown eyes make everyone stop and stare—he’s simply gorgeous. He’s not one you’ll easily forget, and he gets noticed everywhere. Dustin has been blessed not only with beauty, but also with the best personality to match. His resume includes riding English, Western, and bareback, packing kids, doing therapy rides, and he is broke to drive. He is also a true trail master in every way.
To add some fun party tricks, he is trained to sit like a dog, lay down on command, and even step over and park to mount! To say he can do it all is an understatement—he is truly a jack of all trades and phenomenal in every way.
On the ground, Dustin will have you falling in love with his personality before you even swing a leg over. He is curious, sweet, gentle, and unbelievably unflappable. His manners are impeccable—he is in your pocket without being pushy or rude. He genuinely loves people and thrives on attention. You can spend the whole day grooming, bathing, braiding, and doting over him, and he is just happy to be there.
He puts up with kids and dogs running around his legs and never gets worried or unsettled. You can throw the kids on his back to groom him, and he will stand quietly the whole time—even when tantrums are involved. 🤣 He loads into the trailer with zero fuss and stands to tack up—he will even put his head down for the bridle. He gets along with all the other horses (even the sassy mares), and he is quiet and well-behaved in his stall. He is always easy to turn out and bring in. Dustin is truly drama-free and easy to handle in every way. He picks up all four feet easily and is a gentleman for the vet and farrier. It is genuinely impossible not to love him!
If his lovable personality on the ground was not enough, just wait until you swing a leg over this guy. Dustin is incredibly well broke, with a very balanced walk, trot, and canter both ways. His drama-free demeanor shines under saddle, and he has honestly never taken a wrong step. He is a reliable, straightforward ride, and we have yet to see him spook or get bothered by anything.
He is well broke both Western and English. He neck reins and direct reins, has smooth walk-to-canter transitions both ways, leg yields, and side passes. He is safe for literally ANYONE and comes complete with the best brakes. He is one of the most comfortable horses in the barn, with an uphill, rocking-horse canter. We could see this guy excelling in dressage!
Dustin is so special—he is one you can ride bareback all day long, and even ditch the bridle because he is so well trained. He is never in a hurry and is happy to go along on a loose rein, or he will pick up and show off when asked. He has been started lightly over jumps and has impressed us with his honesty and athleticism. There are not many horses his age that can do what he does—especially with as much grace and class as he does.
On the trail, once again, Dustin is incomparable. He is everyone’s first choice to take out because you are guaranteed not only a fun ride, but a safe one. We genuinely cannot say enough good things about this gelding. He is as classy on the trail as he is in the ring.
You can throw anyone on him, and he will take care of them. He acts like a seasoned schoolmaster and does not mind babysitting. He enjoys going out with his ears forward and a lovely curiosity about him. You can ride him on the buckle, backwards, or even with your eyes closed—he is one that will just keep on keeping on.
He is unflappable in every situation—traffic, dogs, bikes, hikers, tarps, equipment, flags, water, bridges, logs—nothing gets under his skin. He is truly one of a kind and guaranteed to be the same horse every time he goes out. He has been to the gas station, trailered off property, and ridden along busy roads, and once again—he is just happy to be there. His attitude and willingness to please give you a look into his soul—he is genuine, sincere, and kind-hearted in every way.
We cannot take credit for much of Dustin’s behavior—it is simply God-given. He was born with one of the best minds we have ever encountered. He has had a lot of time and care put into him by some amazing people, and it shows.
We are looking for a 5-star home for this boy—one where the horse comes first—because he truly deserves the very best. We have complete confidence in Dustin and are incredibly proud to present such an honest young horse to the market! 🤩
