"Da Vinci" - SOLD

15.3-16 hands : 6 year old : DHH/Morgan : Gelding

Da Vinci is a 6yo, 15.3-16hh, DHH/Morgan x gelding. This guy is as smart as he is pretty to look at. He’s one of the fastest learners we’ve ever had, and he has been a blast to bring along. He’s extremely well rounded and could go in any direction. He has the most curious personality and is a total sweetheart. We want the best match for this boy!

In the ring, Da Vinci has a nice wtc both ways and is coming along well. He is super safe for different levels of riders. This guy is worth his weight in gold, if he feels his rider unbalanced, his reaction is to stop. He’s more of a push ride, but not one you have to kick to death. He’s happy to pick up and work when he’s asked, or he will happily mosey around at the walk on the buckle. He has an uphill rocking-horse canter- the kind that you could ride all day long. He’s smoothing out his transitions, learning to move off leg, bend, and to go on the bit properly. He will stop on a dime with a “woah” or off your seat. He likes a rider that helps hold him together, as he’s still learning proper movement. However he is simple and easy enough for an AA or JR working with a trainer to continue to bring him along. He’s got loads of potential and is every trainers dream.

On the trail, Vinci will happily go out in a group or solo with his person. He loves to be out and sightsee, and he is not the spooky type. He’s brave in every scenario, and is used to seeing dogs, hikers, and bikes on the trail. He will ride through bridges, water, over small logs, through open fields, and in all kinds of weather. He’s a solid citizen in every way, and the reliable type that you could put a beginner on for a hack. He’s never one to go faster than he’s asked and he is super level headed. He takes care of his rider, and he is very sure footed and fun to take out.

Over jumps, Da Vinci has been started over small xrails, logs, pipes, and some combinations. He’s gone out cross country schooling and was amazing. His brave willing attitude really shines through when he’s jumping and he has fun doing it. We’ve kept the jumps small to continue to build his confidence- however he has tons of potential to do 3ft + in the future. His ears are always forward going to the jump, he rides to the base, and he never gets rushy or quick.

Under harness this guy has a decent amount of experience. He keeps the same easygoing mentality when driving, and he is happy to trot along on a loose rein. He’s pulled the carriage, different farm equipment, and the sleigh! He’s always down for whatever is thrown at him. He’s traffic safe, sensible, and fun.

We can’t say enough good things about this guy. In the barn he’s easy to handle, goofy, and always keeps a smile on our faces. He picks up all four feet easily, and is behaved for the farrier, vet, and dentist. He has no bad stall manners, and loads in the trailer easily. He loves people, any attention given, and he is a total in your pocket type. He’s the type of horse that wants to bond with his person and have a relationship. We all adore this gelding and want the best home for him.
