Jessie is a 7 year old Gypsy Vanner mare standing 14.2 hands high. Jessie is truly one of a kind. She is safe, quiet, and as kind as they come. If you are looking for a gentle, steady, and drop dead gorgeous partner to call your very own, Jessie is your girl. We enjoy taking Jessie on trail rides, camping trips, and hunter paces. The children here adore her. You can often see her being ridden bareback across the fields, pulling kids in the sled, or being groomed for hours on end. Jessie has a total puppy dog personality, with a kind heart and gentle nature. She wants to be your friend.
In the ring, Jessie is simple to ride. She enjoys taking it slow and is a solid walk trot horse for any level rider. She has a lovely smooth canter, but much prefers to take it slow. Halt is her favorite gait, and will happily stand for hours if you ask her to. She will walk and trot on a loose rein, and is learning to go in a frame as well. Most of her time in the ring is spent with small children on her back. She is happy going around while they learn to stop, steer, and balance. Jessie will also pop over crossrails and poles when asked.
On the trails, Jessie is an absolute dream. She will safely carry her rider anywhere they ask, and will lead, follow, or ride in the middle of the pack. Jessie is one of the few horses that will not fuss or get worked up if the rest of the pack gallops off. Jessie will quietly and calmly wait for your command to carry on, and does not get worried or jiggy in any situation. We feel comfortable putting absolutely anyone on this mare to go on a trail ride. She is solid, reliable, and as easygoing as they come. She may not be the tallest, but she is sturdy and takes up the riders leg very well.
In the barn, Jessie is a family favorite. If grooming, bathing, braiding, and loving on your horse is your thing, Jessie will be your best friend. The kids sit on her back on the crossties while she is being groomed. She is used to dogs and other animals running about, and is overall a dream to have around. She is a babysitter that is easy for anyone to handle and be around. Jessie is happy living inside or out and gets along well with everyone. She has absolutely zero mare like behavior.
We have nothing but good things to say about this pretty lady. She is always a pleasure to be around, and has proved to be trustworthy both in and out of the arena. She is a true family horse that is sure to put smiles on everyone’s faces.
