Teddy is a 4 year old Percheron/TB gelding currently standing 15.3 hands high and growing. This guy truly lives up to his name and is a total teddy bear, love bug of a horse. He was born with one of the quietest and most easygoing personalities ever and is overall just a happy and sweet horse. Don’t let his young age fool you. He is a laid back horse that can take a joke. He is a steady going horse that can go anywhere and be successful in any direction. He has shown us that he is already a dependable and safe mount with loads of talent and the brain to match.
In the ring, Teddy is simple and quiet. He has great brakes and three lovely gaits. He has wonderful transitions and will be easy as pie to finish in the direction of your choosing as he grows and matures. Teddy has offered flying changes and is a very naturally talented jumper. Teddy has a solid foundation and the best attitude around. He has been started over small fences and courses and has shown to be brave and honest with good technique. He is point and shoot and is extremely balanced and smart about his feet. You would not guess his age when on or around this horse He is an old soul with nothing but good intentions.
Off property, Teddy has lots of miles. He has been on loads of trail rides, some hunter paces, and even ridden into town. Teddy is a swimming machine and is always happy to go for a dip in the lake! He will cross any and all obstacles including logs, small coupes, rivers, roads, bridges, and tunnels. Teddy is a sensible horse and can be trusted with guests, children, and friends out on the trails. Teddy will stand to mount from the ground, logs, picnic tables, and more. He stands tied to the trailer and is always patient and mannerly.
In the barn, Teddy is a ham. He truly likes the company of people and soaks up any and all attention. He has great ground manners and is loving without being pushy. He is great with small children and dogs running around, and doesn’t care about the commotion going on around the farm. Teddy currently lives out in a large mixed herd of mares and other geldings, but is still well behaved when stalled. He has no bad habits and is a pleasure to have in the barn.
Teddy is the type of youngster we wish we could clone! From day one this horse has been an absolute dream. He likes to please, loves his people, and has never put a foot wrong by us. Teddy can easily be finished by a junior with a trainer, an amateur, or be enjoyed by a family.
